Flip the bottle over and let the alcohol soak the cloth for a while before you turn it back again. If it has been done, then the alcohol won’t spill so much.

The disk should be held in a particular way while you are cleaning the disk. Quite simply hold the disk with your thumb and middle finger and keep the index finger under the side of the disk (non data side). Work the wet cloth from the center towards the side and don’t go back else you will rub the dirt on the disk and scratch it. If there is a persistent dirty or a grimy portion, then just wet the cloth a bit more and continue to clean the disk.

When using nails be careful cause you might tear the cloth and risk scratching the disk. You can also clean the disk with the dry portion of the cloth the same way that you did with the wet cloth. But this practice is only cosmetic. Allow the disk to dry completely before using the disk.
